Wake up, Smell the Coffee. Live Extraoridinarilly!

Never go to art school.
Never go to New York.
Never rent a loft.
Dump your font folder.
Forget symmetry and color coordination.
Stop taking text from editorial that you don't read and packaging it in eye catching ways.
Walk away from your computer.
Then take off.

Go to India, rural China, Rio, Caracas, Belize. Mingle with the filthy rich and the dirt poor.
Dig up all the roots of terror.
Make hunger, disease, cruelty, lust, greed, self preservation and genocide your roommates.
Then, when you run out of money and you can't take it anymore fly back home.
Look in the mirror. Face your fears, your weaknesses, strengths, your imminent demise.
Then, when all of this begins to gel into a master narrative in front of your eyes,
go get a job.

Waking up the mind and spirit.

Ways to Wake-Up:

  • Get out there. Have a snowball fight, climb a hill, run around the city and SMILE like a crazy person to show people how much you enjoy life! :D
  • Take pictures. Everyday life, meaningful shit, whatever. The bus shack, the joint you smoke, the candy store, the dirty bed sheets.
  • Write for the heck of it. Take a piece of paper and scribble what ever you think, randomness to get your brain moving. No pressure to write a masterpiece.
  • Enjoy learning the class material and try and learn it so you will remember it later in life for conversation and general knowledge.
  • CREATE. Cut out pictures from magazines, mash them together, make sculptures out of bubble gum, I don’t care! Just do it!
  • Read
  • Listen
  • Lay down for hours in bed THINKING and DREAMING.
  • Enjoy food in a healthy manner. Do not be gluttonous but savor the flavors and appreciate nourishment.
  • LEARN new skills, and ideas from people you meet
  • .Live whole-heartedly with out regrets.

"“Kiss me once, and kiss me twice, kiss me once again; it's been a long long time"

Nov.4th Dream.

I had a most lovely dream the other night.

I was at a dorm room party and there was another boy there whom I actually know in my day to day life but have only just met.
He was tipsy but I was not. My alarm clock radio played a wonderful slow, French love song in the reality as he extended his hand for a dance. He clumsily waltzed me up and down the narrow space between the two dorm beds and we both laughed and laughed!

The song slowed and he held me close and I looked into his eyes which were small and half light brown/greenish, half dark brown, and his body was so cozy and warm. He put his arm around me and I nesseled into his small body, with my head on his shoulder. He then planted one large, warm kiss on my forehead and I tingled from head to toe, one more on the same spot as I snuggled closer, and finally one more as I woke up in my bed alone smiling - wonderfully warm. :)

To kiss a forehead is to erase worry.
I kiss your forehead.

To kiss the eyes is to lift sleeplessness.
I kiss your eyes.

To kiss the lips is to drink water.
I kiss your lips.

To kiss a forehead is to erase memory.
I kiss your forehead.
